From what I can tell this is a 1975, maybe 76? Motobecane Grand Touring Mixte. Date code on the crankset is 1975.
I took the rack and rear reflector off and the bike weighs just over 26 pounds, just under 12kg. It is currently in near perfect condition and is using what I believe is completely original parts including amazing sew up motobecane branded grips. One exception is possibly the wheels which are campagnolo freewheel 27 1/4 rims.
My original plan when I picked this up was a restomod going all black parts, Shimano 105 or GRX 2×11. I'm second guessing this idea because this functionally is perfect as is. Some things need addressed for me to ride it as is. The reach is long for me and the original Atom peddles aren't going to stay on the bike neitheris the saddle. Otherwise I could keep it 3×5 original. Add fenders?
Does anyone have any ideas? Is this a question for the xbike community? I do have several bikes in several different styles, road, touring, upright, klunker and a few 80s and 90s modified ATB bikes already. Always wanted a mixte road bike.
