I’m looking about for a new ride and eyeing up some gravel bikes for a mix of commuting and gentle trail riding. Nothing special.
Initially found this [Cube Nuroad EX](https://www.paulscycles.co.uk/bikes/road-bikes/cube-nuroad-ex-gravel-adventure-bike-flash-stoneorange__8965?currency=GBP&chosenAttribute=58015050&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqP2pBhDMARIsAJQ0CzqotOc2RN3iMEMiXSLn_3nnXOw5HaazXS70WqX4H6aY_19XK4rpWGsaAtKkEALw_wcB)
but then spotted this 2nd hand [Felt V55](https://resurrectionbikes.org.uk/products/felt-v-series-55-alloy-disc-adventure-road-bike-grey/).
Is this a bargain or too ancient to be worth my time?

The Felt is not a bargain, but it’s priced very reasonably for sure. Very effective build as well – old brifters paired with some mechanical disc brakes. It’s fairly small though, I hope you’re aware of that. It’s certainly not a ‘tired old thing’. Any bike that has disk brakes is fairly modern, and even then bikes don’t really get worse with age the same way electronics do, for example.
But the Cube is certainly going to ride nicer, as you’d hope for being new and 800 quid more…
Bottom line IMO: If you want to dip your toes, that Felt is going to do everything you’re asking for.
