🏍️ Which Honda A2 bike would come out on top after riding through FIVE countries?
Honda invited me to compare the NC750X DCT, NX500 E-Clutch, and Transalp 750 E-Clutch on an unforgettable adventure across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Liechtenstein.
After riding all three bikes back to back on mountain passes, motorways, towns and some of Europe’s best roads, it’s finally time to decide…
🏆 Which one would I actually buy?
In this video I compare:
• ENGINE
• COMFORT
• WIND PROTECTION
• CONFIDENCE
• TWISTIES
• TOWN RIDING
• TRANSMISSION
• OVERALL WINNER!
Let me know in the comments – which Honda would you choose?

Transalp 750 E-Clutch is basically modern r80 GS !!
Wow how cool
Is this through all those beautiful countries 👍👸🏻
but big miss is NC750X with at least belt drive and may be a semi active shock! perfect for daily commute where end your day at office on Friday, ride to camp for the weekend and back to office on Monday no sweat. Chain defeats the of daily commute tag as today's roads are basically offroad.
NC owner here, also an old man! Great bike for me, Honda have a fantastic range of bikes, something for everyone, the subsidised service packs are the cherry on top.
some dreamy roads..but not a fan of the move toward more automatic transmissions, the e-clutch and dct even though they are fantastic bike…love Hondas….
I now own my 2nd NC750x DCT and at 5'09" I find the pegs too high so I've fitted adjustable alloy pegs at 40mm lower and a comfort seat = perfect.
Nice vid and thumbnail
You tube is the winner for having your channel on it ❤
Kate, you can put the dct into sport and leave it auto. It will hold onto the gears and change down quicker too. NC750 dct with panniers and a touring screen. Panniers for your odds and sods and the frunk for your helmet. Sorted.
Hey, I saw that video where she asked which one was your favorite. You mentioned waiting for your full review on your channel, and here we are! I totally guessed it'd be the Transalp on her channel, but I was wrong.
If I had to pick one based on what you said, I'd choose the Transalp. I'm 1.81m tall, and I'm already familiar with this engine since I own a CB750 Hornet. Second choice the NC750X DCT 😀
Great review ❤
Ride Safe ✌

The NC is a better real world road bike. Forget the spec sheets and ride one.
However…
Honda have confused things by making it more versatile with more bodywork, dual front discs and touring capabilities. This is at odds with the terrible suspension and nasty cheap painted steel swingarm, relics of the budget commuter this bike started life as. It’s also now rather pricey once you set it up as a touring bike – add the comfort pack, centre stand, handguards and panniers (which force you to pay £350 extra to have the rear rack even if you don’t want a topbox) and you’re close to the price of a CB1000GT!
The final thing to be aware of is residuals. The NC does not hold its value – you’ll be lucky to get £5K for a spec’ed out 1 year old bike. Caveat Emptor.
So you've based an opinion on the fact that you're vertically challenged 😅
I looked at both bikes, and the NX is far to cramped for a taller rider, I bought the full fat 95bhp E clutch trans Alp.
Also the NX even deristricted is a lot less power than a Trans Alp.
So basically Kate you chose the wrong bike 😮
Who asked for this stupid e-clutch crap? Honda have been doing ths since they destroyed the Vfr's gear driven cam engine with chain driven cams and stupid vtec that ruined a perfect engine.
the dct 750x is suitable for commuters or people that have a physical problem preventing them using a manual gearbox.
Honda should put a centre stand and a half decent rear shock on the NX500 instead of this needless crap that's just another thing to fail.
Also how much would it have cost them to put an ambient temp display on the dash?
All this modern crap is just designed to fail, and the gullible will fall for the dazzling trinkets without ever stoping to think how they are being fooled and fleeced by a big corporation.
Bought and paid for 'reviews' like this are just part of the marketing scam to suck in gullible twits to buy this crap.
Well to be honest I thought you were talking about another bike not the NX500.😮
As a former owner of the Transalps .With 11000km done I immensely enjoy the NX500 as shorter older rider .
The throttle is the smoothest I have ever used on my non E clutch 24 model .
The comfort is at least on par with the Transalp and more settled going into rough corners at moderate pace .
Use your clutch for driving out of tight corners on the NX500 it wakes it up …and livens up the experience …
You are not 29 inch inseam .
I have 28 inch legs meaning 😅about 27 inch inseam …and I can almost flatfoot on both legs .
You are a lighter rider about 70kg?
The preload is set too hard for you , no sag so your already short legs are being made to work harder to touch the ground .
The NX500 is lighter way more balanced than the Transalp and if you ride the back roads and obey the speed limits …it’s just as capable as any bike I have ridden .
Great video as always …but alas you have sold the Nx500 very short 😅.
A lot of short folk use Daytona magic boots to raise them up a couple of inches .
Think you in reality have 26 inch leg inseam 👍👍👍
Out takes 😂😂😂😂❤
Out takes 😂😂😂😂
I watch you for a very long time and I do like your reviews. The say NC750X comes first choice before Transalp 750 is just pure madness. I get your points , and I understand you are a bit shorter and feels more comfortable for you but no way anyone on this earth if you have a choice, let's say someone will offer you for free any of this bikes, no way in hell anyone will choose the NC instead Transalp
Woohoo, go the NC! I think you know I love that bike, and it’s such a sleeper on how fun it actually is thanks to the combination of the low down revs for the torque and the low centre of gravity. I’m sure others may suggest this, but I agree with you on Auto with the DCT … however, if you change it to Sport mode on Auto, it holds the gear much longer and higher in the revs, and that is so so much more lively. Anyway, such a great vid Kate, as I mentioned on IG, so envious of this trip, as much as I loved this for you 😍
5 countries or about half way across Texas 😂
Lower 48 U.S. States Exceeding 660 km in Length or Width:
California: ~1,331 km long or wide (827 miles)
Texas: ~1,287 km wide (800 miles)
Montana: ~1,012 km wide (629 miles)
Florida: ~962 km long (598 miles)
Idaho: ~906 km long (563 miles)
Nevada: ~904 km long or wide (562 miles)
Oklahoma: ~859 km wide (534 miles)
New Mexico: ~838 km wide (521 miles)
You've been busy !
I agree with you Kate🤷🏻♂
Depends on what the rider triangle was like for me as I don't like too much tuck in the legs and what my intended future uses might be.
Transalp seems to be the better developed bike but I prefer the DCT over the E-Clutch .
Plus my old bug-bear of bikes with aspirations to do distance touring, none of them have cruise control .
So I'd probably look elsewhere to see what I could find standard before putting any money down and then having to back up with thousands more dollars to make it what I actually wanted.
(Even if the alternative actually cost a bit more 🤷♂ )
750x manual. driven the dct quite a bit, and i dont like it. 10kgs less as well. So if the manual is as smooth on the throttle as the dct, it would be a nobrainer for me. Until that happens, im enjoying my 2026 hornet above 3000rpm. below its utter garbage due to euro regulations. Imo
I used to own a CTX with DCT and it's great. The DCT sort of learns how you ride. Sport mode is great if you don't like downshifting yourself. Manual mode never did make any sense to me since you can change gears in drive or sport mode. Honda offered a foot shifter for the CTX and they probably did for the NC750.
15:52 100% agree about the DCT foot shifter, rode my dad's for 60 miles or so, 2 up and by myself and the one place I feel the DCT doesn't quite work well enough is giving you the right gear to fire you out of a corner.
It's always 1 gear too high unless you're in sport mode and really brake hard going into the corner, only then will it change down even further.
But most of my spirited riding I tend to hold momentum through the corner and fire out the other side, so if you're not braking harshly then the DCT won't change down enough. It's like it's designed for Supermoto riders who go fast in, right turn, blast out.
So like you said manual mode felt weird podging buttons, but with a foot shifter and just using it like a quick shifter would make it feel so much better.
