The murder of former MP and Reform UK figure Ann Widdecombe has renewed concerns about the safety of Britain’s politicians. With threats and abuse increasing, questions are being asked about whether all 650 MPs should be offered close protection and whether Britain could afford it.

David Bull and security specialist Will Geddes discuss the dangers politicians face, the intrusion caused by round-the-clock protection and how toxic rhetoric online can develop into a genuine physical threat.

After the interview, Bull reads a listener’s warning that illegal immigration, the trans-rights row, “two-tier policing”, rising taxes, benefits, antisemitism and net zero are pushing Britain towards civil unrest.

Bull also asks whether major departures from Labour’s election manifesto should trigger a general election and criticises Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s move to the left and prospect of further tax rises.

Presenter David Bull speaks with security specialist Will Geddes.

  1. If you think we have problems now, wait till we get a proper right wing government that starts deporting illegals by the thousand, THEN you'll see the violence of the far left and the said illegals. At the moment, they are all pandered to, but Farage won't cut them any slack.

  2. All the ones born here will stay so stopping the boats wont be noticable, the only thing britons will notice is theyve been tricked into voting away our rights and freedoms and will be sent to the trenches and hit by a drone. Vote your rights away you wont have a choice.

  3. Funny how this country is being invaded, preyed upon and destroyed from the inside by the politicians and their actions we need real criminal charges for politicians going against the country and its people they’re filthy scum

  4. The main problem in the UK is left wing extreamisem & Islamisem who readily result to violence when you question thier naritive! Britian is broken & needs REFORM UK.

  5. And youre all white now if that had been Diane Abbott for example the scum in power would maybe just maybe thought about protecting MPs,..I certainly don't wish harm to Diane by the way

  6. Governments have created this and they get protection but joe public are left in dangerous situations with no protection and not allowed to protect themselves. Why anyone votes for the main parties I'll never understand.

  7. The attacks and cunning of parts of the press government machine and TV companies is boundless. I have never known the attacks and smears again Reform voters and their leadership. Right wing thugs to attacks of vile lies to the Reform Leadership. I can only reflect Donald getting the same abuse but it meant more votes.

  8. Number of white British people slaughtered by Muslims and assorted negroid savages: hundreds and hundreds. Number of British MPs slaughtered by white British people? One. Remind me again, who needs extra protection?

  9. Very odd

  10. If civil war civil unrest comes about we are all but finished.
First this Fabian labour government are socialist commies. They would like nothing more than civil war that's what all the baiting is about, why, because then they can implement marshal law which means lock down and no freedom no more elections no more anything, the fabians want a commie UK by 2030 with the blessing of the EU. DONT LET THEM HAVE IT.
wait for the green light to remove them if we don't hold back it's the end game for us and our country.
The boats are a problem we know that but this government is something else
They know they can stop them all partys have known that. Its treason and what is the punishment for treason, it was death until Tony Blair stopped it, I wonder why.

  11. Never mind protecting MPs. Who is going to protect the British public from the dreadful decisions they make that are ruining our lives. They have got a damn cheek complaining about what the rest of us have to endure on a daily basis.
