Out of the forest and across the road – safe cycling in Rovaniemi 🚴♂️🌲✨

In this clip from Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland in Finland, I take you on my cycling tour from the long film that was filmed the same day. Rovaniemi is located in the very north of Finland, right on the Arctic Circle, and is known as the official hometown of Santa Claus 🎅✨. The city is a popular destination for nature lovers, cyclists, families and those who want to experience Arctic culture, modern architecture and the large forest areas around the city.
In recent decades, Rovaniemi has developed into a modern Arctic city with a university environment, cultural center, museums such as Arktikum, Santa Claus Village and a large network of walking and cycling paths. This makes the city a perfect place for both leisurely walks and longer cycling experiences 🚴♂️❄️.
In this clip, I come out of the forest and onto a slightly larger road. Even though it’s quiet and I don’t hear any cars, I choose to stop completely before I cycle across. It’s important to be extra careful – as a cyclist, you’re always the loser in a collision, no matter who has the right of way. Safety first, always 🙌🚴♂️
Once I’ve crossed the road, I continue my journey on the fantastic cycle path that runs through the Rovaniemi area. It’s quiet, clear and incredibly pleasant to cycle here. The Finnish nature around me gives me a special feeling of freedom – clean air, quiet surroundings and wide, well-maintained paths 🌲✨.
