To preface this I’m new too bicycle touring and I’m also writing this in mobile.
Information about myself: I don’t own a bicycle but know how to use one and have been wanting to buy one for months but have trouble deciding which one since I have no experience. I weigh 245 and I’m 5 foot 11 inches.
What I want to achieve with the bicycle: I want to be able to use it as a daily bike.I would be mainly using it in city streets, but I want to be able to take use it for camping.
The best store for this type of stuff near me is a REI and I’ve tried their Hybrid bikes mostly the [CTY 1.1](https://www.rei.com/product/197842) and [CTY 2.2](https://www.rei.com/product/198728) and felt that they’re suited for what I want in a good price range.
As I scrolled I also saw the [ADV 1.1](https://www.rei.com/product/220761) fwhich I liked because I had some racks) and the [ADV 3.1](https://www.rei.com/product/180598)
The ADV line of bikes would be awesome to own but they are a on the pricier side. I’m personally hoping i can achieve what I want with the CTY 1.1 hybrid bike since it’s very affordable.
Please tell me your thoughts anything helps!
If there are better bikes sold by REI that are budget friendly I would love to hear!!

Looks like the 1.1 will take care of you well. If your city is big enough for an rei, there are probably several good bike shops, so try bikes at all of those as well. A good bike shop just down the street will pay big dividends in answered questions and small bike adjustments.
