  1. They feel and fit terrible. European quality is very poor. One option is to buy ultra lixury clothing x something in the range of 200 to 300 Euros.

Gsm has nothing to do with shirting. Think or search like what is 120/2 140/2 shirting, etc. The cost to make that fabric in a whole sale market for ex in India is 15 to 140 Euros in India. The same or inferior quality costs like 100 to 700 Euros per metre. Now at retail we are talking about a price in the range of 300 to 1000 Euros for a simple shirt!

I have seen most of the Indian companies are manufacturing fabrics for loro piana etc

  2. Not exactly true! European standards for producing cotton fabric are different from the US! They allow shaving machines to make cotton feel more luxurious and more standardized than here! And they are less constrained by time in factories! Knowing what you do about knitting practices especially for tees and French terry ……..

  3. Tell me you've never been to Europe without telling me
The vast, vast majority of clothes bought here is fast fashion. People have no idea what quality looks like. Also most things that say "made in Italy" are actually made in China and the last stamp it added in Italy

  4. I really appreciated the comparison to food and ingredients. Much appreciated comment, considering that it comes from a person born in Hong Kong, a place with an even longer history and culture.
