I am wondering if anyone has customised the stock Grizl 7 and added road wheel-sets? If so, was it easy?? I’m a complete noob when it comes to this stuff.
I was thinking of getting just 2 new road tyres and then swapping the tyres rather than having to buy 2 brand-new sets of everything.
If anyone has experience with this or just general bike advice I’d hugely appreciate it!!

You can but it gets old fast switching between. The 10-30 min of taking things apart, cleaning and reinstalling tubeless setup you won’t do before every ride let alone every week. So if you truly want dual use the dual wheelset takes you 30-120s to switch instead. Just getting the tires is a great way to see if you actually like the bike in road mode before committing though. A word of caution: the grizl frame is really stiff so don’t go for 25-28 or maybe not even 30mm road tires. Go for the new Continental 35s or maybe the Pirelli 40.
I bought a secondhand set of DT Swiss Gravel Ln wheels (it’s the same as what the bike came with so I didn’t have to worry about compatability), bought a new cassette and two new discs.
It takes about 2 mins to swap everything over, I never have to adjust the indexing either which is a bonus. The bike rides well but I ended up buying an Ultimate for road rides purely because more bikes = better
Hot take – just don’t bother and, depending on the terrain you usually ride gravel on, just use your gravel tyres. I’m running 45mm Vittoria Terreno T50 on my Grizl and use it as an ‘all road’ type bike. Cruising at 35kph on tarmac (if my legs are feeling it) and rolling to 50+ on the downhill is plenty for a non-race IMO. If you want to be going faster than that, you probably need a road bike. My Grizl is 2by which does of course help with top speed.
That said, the 2 sets of wheels is by far the most sensible option. Obviously costs a bit by the time you’ve bought the wheels, second set of rotors and extra cassette but for the speed of swapping it does make more sense.
Got the exact same bike, I can confirm that buying another wheelset with discs and a cassette will be much simpler day to day. Swapping tires will discourage you to go out and ride, swapping wheels takes little time. I’m using elitewheels ENT 2 and it works great with 28mm tires.
