This travel vlog is our first time to visit Bulgaria. We made our way to the ski resort town of Bansko. Thriving in the winter, the summer it becomes a quite hiking paradise. It felt off the beaten path with such few tourists but the hiking and trekking was perfect and clearly an underrated European destination. Such beautiful Bulgarian mountains to explore. We made our way up the Bansko gondola and hiked to the Vihren hut a popular place to start your mountain hike.

⭐About Travel Beans:
Welcome to the official Travel Beans YouTube channel! On this channel, you’ll find a variety of travel and vlog content, in which you’ll see us in places like Thailand, Japan, USA, Slovenia, and more.

In 2017 we left home with just £500 in our bank account and a dream to make a sustainable travel lifestyle happen! We are now living our dream as digital nomads and want to inspire you to create your own story, whatever it may be!

After 5 years of aimless, yet enjoyable, backpacking around the world we found ourselves in New York City battling with depression. At this point, we decided to go home and confront this problem head on. After 6 tough months at home we decided to go away again, but this time with a goal in mind.. to turn travel into a lifestyle.

Our time spent battling depression has influenced our outlook on life dramatically! We are now traveling the world in search of what makes us happy. In our vlogs, we talk openly and honestly about our travel experiences, the digital nomad life and depression. We hope our videos can help to inspire you to create a life that makes you happy!

  2. Bulgaria is a beautiful place, I'm proud Bulgarian! Next time when you are near Bansko look for a small village Dobarsko and the mystery church – never restored, unique murals sealed with centuries-old wax candle smoke.Google it!

  3. WOW Bansko is beautiful! (Nature lover here). Thank you for the tip, we will definitely go if we ever make it to Bulgaria. Oh, and I can confirm the google maps trick – the other day we climbed Mount Tateyama in Japan, and we never would have had if not for the green spots on google map x) Thanks for a great one. Cheers to Alex and his good sense of fashion!

  4. Wow, amazing how similar it looked to Banff where we just went. Especially with the bears, you need bear spray though just in case (Stacey is obsessed with bear spray).

Definitely the rule is brown/black bear you need to seduce it, that's what I've hear.

My only experience in Bulgaria is a big celebration at our Sofia office….. Which wa messy….. Nice to see everything else in Bulgaria

  5. You do not want to see a bear, a bear can run with 60km/h, can crawl, can swim, can fight and it is really strong – no salvation from bear! also we have snakes, foxes, coyotes and giant wild warthogs.

  6. If you have the time and can afford the trip there is a much more to see from Bulgaria, for example the Rhodope Mountain, Strandzha mountain, Belogradchic rocks, the eco park Golden Panega, our coastline and many many more

  7. The rule for the brown bear is not just pretending to be death. You have to cover yourself with shit.
And please don't ask me where you are going to get the shit from. Trust me – You'll have it.

  8. If we can only see the same infrastructure on Vitosha mountain-next to our capitol, it's completely neglected. Big thanks to our Sofia mayor Фандькова.
