


Hey all, I am rebuilding my old TT bike for fun and to sell. I’ve come to learn that old bikes and old components come with lots of quirks and incompatibilities. I don’t know the right words to get a good google and YouTube video to explain what I’m seeing.
The wheel is set solidly into the quick release and immensely left justified. Thinking back I may have been seeing the same thing on my old road bike with a set of mavic aksiums.
Are some wheel built this far off from center for a reason? Or is this something I can fix with the right set of spacers?
Bike: 2015ish wilier twin blade, UHC paint scheme
Wheels: Reynolds attack
Tire: 26mm pirelli p zero road
I used to ride this bike with a 21mm wide rim and 25mm wide tire that measure 26mm as a system. This one only measures 24mm.

Wheel needs to be redished
make sure ur qr is centred
Also possible the rear triangle/dropouts are bent.
You gotta redish the wheel. Tighten each drive side spoke and loosen the opposite side ones by the same amount until the wheel looks centered, then check for trueness and correct tension.
Possibilities:
Wheel was improperly dished (rim not centered on axle during the build)
Frame is bent
Someone serviced the hub and reassembled the axle wrong.
It’s not fully seated in the rear dropouts.
Frame is asymmetrical and requires an offset wheel (highly uncommon)
These TT bikes usually have horizontal dropouts with screws in them to adjust how far back the wheel sits. It’s very common for the screws to be uneven, causing this. I highly doubt the wheel is out of dish
Are the centering springs on the skewer both facing narrow end inward? If one’s the wrong way around it will sit over the end of the axle and send the centering off. Also I presume you’ve tried opening and closing the qr lever with the bike vertical and pushed downwards. Also can you try the wheel in another frame with the same rear spacing?
I’m kinda suspicious that maybe the wheel came from Cannondale bike. They have the ai offset dished wheels, which would explain overall situation with wheel being true.
Your hanger dropout also might be bent or loose
As I noticed the jockey wheels cage is leaning outwards instead of straight with the cassette

Another possibility is a free wheel with more sprockets than the frame was designed for
If it’s not wheel dish then check for damage on the drive side rear drop out/derailure hanger area. I’ve had a couple of old cannondale bikes that got chewed up in the drop outs from threaded axle wheels.
