They had one in the resort in Austria I just got back from. Heated seats are a game changer and, with no line, makes cold weather days a dream cos you're on the lift most of the time. Love the "Lazer lanes" shots 😂🤣
Laser guides! Heated seats! Bubble cover! Kids today are spoiled, LOL. I remember waiting for the lift attendant to wipe the slush off the seat, because East Coast, before riding through six different types of precipitation only to arrive at the top looking like Frosty the Snowman. It built character. 😅
I hate this style of chair because I can't tuck my poles to free up my hands while riding. And the added complexity increases maintenance costs (which translates to higher lift tickets), power draw, and reduced reliability.
Rode this lift last week. It's sick, but when hopping on it, you often get way too close to the vehicle in front. You almost get pushed under it by the treadmill, quite a scare

In the age of overtourism/skiing in EU, you don't find queues at the starts, but the lifts vomit enormous amount of poor souls on top and you find crowds of skiers criss crossing each other in the tracks They try to escape fate of being hit and, of course, hardly enjoy the ride.
I'm 75 and, thanks God, I enjoyed tranquil skiing of the last century.
Again bad ass that there’s protection from the wind, heated seats, and no need to have beginners struggle getting on and off. But idk that I need to sit with 4-6 more people. I enjoy the 2-4 seaters.

Best thing with newer chairlifts are the bubble and ass heating!
