A French judge found probable cause to believe Vingegaard and Pogacar were doping, and allowed authorities to test them after midnight. Thatโs the story. The reckoning is coming. Maybe we can have a relatively clean tour again soon. No coincidence that Pogi rides a crap time trial when he canโt go thru his normal doping routine.
Insane to think pogi was somewhat close to crashing today too
Love seeing REMCO show the world how it's done! Interesting twist of fate in Lipo starting before Remco and crashing….that provided intel on that dangerous curve that could have taken Remco if he had gone through there first! My prayers for Remco to make it through trouble free were answered today.
How did Merlier miss the time cut in a time trial?
REMCO 2.0 does it again ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐จ๐จ๐จ๐จ๐จ
Sorry to hear about Florian ๐ฎ
have a great evening Orla, love the vids โค
Yet another shitty course course design / route that caused the crash and injuries and withdrawl of yet another top rider. I mean… it's amost like the Tour organizers are TRYING to kill these guys… with their apathy and incompetence.
Give each rider in the top 10 a chaperone to monitor them for testing. That way you don't have to wake anyone up at 2am
Audio was BETTER without the microphone. You hold those DJI Mics too close; too many plosives.
Remco is an amazing cyclist but Pogadcar is unbeatable,. Btw im knackered too after driving the whole day
Classic French bureaucracy that a distant judge in Paris authorised the 2am tests. Was he educated at a grande รฉcole de Paris? Did everyone at the AFLD and UCI attend ENA school?
Did any French riders get a late night test?
Terrible tour . The testers think something is going on. Suspicious UAE . Keep testing them .
The banned substance list is about 450 years behind what top doping doctors and networks are capable of. The practice of microdosing has been around since 1991. Methods have more than likely moved on. So itโs a complete waste of time waking the athletes up. Let them sleep in peace
Did you film on your phone!? Great stuff!
Gross to do a program lying on your back in bed
Non professionalism
Thatโs the last we will see of Remco. He will be dropped like a stone in a well when they hit the mountains.
Orla You did predict it, and it was the headphones that you left behind. What a stunning view!
BEAUTIFUL VIEW!(and girl)๐๐
Remco is so otherworldly untouchably dominant in a TT that it's easy to overlook just how good Pog was: 3rd through 24th was covered by 2:00, and Pog beat 3rd place Skjelmose by 0:36
Lost interest in the tour…
Orla, would you have felt the same if Jonas was killed or left a quadriplegic? Rider safety is more important than anything else. This sport is far too dangerous to jeopardize riders health & safety. Otherwise I have no interest in watching, because I still remember remember Geno Mader being killed. 100 kph descents messing with rider safety is completely unacceptable
Watch that same French Judge is going to sign off on getting Del Toro night time tested at 3am in between the two large Alp Duez mountain stages whilst Seixas will get a uninterupted night of sleep.
Waking-up in bed with Orla … what a great start to my day! ๐
It looked like Pogi factored in some self preservation throughout that time trial yesterday which was understandable considering he didn't need to take any risks, Piddly Pop was outstanding! am really pleased for him. Love your Breakaway show, would love to be part of the live audience one day, how would someone get on as an audience member?
the view at the beginning is heavenly. ๐
Everything changed? That's ridiculous. Results went as expected. The only change is Lipo having to withdraw.
Only three yellow jersey in this edition of Tour de France : Vingegaard crashed out, Torsten Traen crashed out …and Pogi ? .Never two without three according the adage ? But ..be Confident with Pogi : He is Armstrong not Beloki
The next step. All riders will be strip-searched and will be housed at night in a monastery, each with two observers throughout the night.
The riders who throw themselves at the stage, ride with joy and panache and flair – Carapaz, Simmons ( thought I don't like his politics) and now Pidcock – they make the Tour for me. Pogacar is like that, too. These riders ride with big hearts. You can keep your Remco machines.
We have heard repeatedly that this type of testing is only permissible when there is heightened suspicion of doping; it is not equivalent to standard preventive testing. It is a measure aimed at catching offenders.
However, if no doping is detected, it would constitute an abuse of the testing procedure. Under current rules, it certainly cannot be used as a routine test.
If the rules were to change and this type of testing were permitted, there would be one simple solution: testing would take place at night, but no stage would be raced the following dayโinstead, there would be another rest day. That is the only way to ensure fairness and the safety of the riders. A sleep-deprived person behaves the same way on the road as someone under the influence of alcohol.
In any case, I have urged the CPA to propose neutralizing the stage if the organizers do not do so themselves.
The current Tour has already lost all credibility due to these interventions. Now, the image of cycling must be saved for the future.
