The adventure continues as I follow the Tour de France 2026 across France in my VW California campervan.
Stage 13 was the longest stage of this year’s Tour, covering 205.8 km from the historic town of Dole to Belfort, with a challenging route that included the legendary Ballon d’Alsace before a thrilling finish. It was a day that looked perfect for an attacking breakaway, and the racing certainly didn’t disappoint.
The weather was roasting once again, with another day of blazing sunshine making it a real challenge for both the riders and the thousands of fans lining the roadside. Despite the heat, the atmosphere was incredible, and seeing the Tour pass by in person is something every cycling fan should experience.
