  1. There is quite a good story about Pogi when he was younger:
After joining the Rog Ljubljana club at age 9, his raw talent stood out immediately. In one early local race, a national coach thought Pogačar was struggling to catch a group of older teenagers 100 meters ahead, only to be told the young Pogačar was actually about to lap them

  2. I am just not convinced about him being clean. Anyway I ride bikes as an amateur and all the performances of the peloton seem unreal. They go with 50km/h on flat while I have that speed only on descents. While it is truly hard to ride up a mountain at 15 km/h they do it at 25 or 30, which is quite unhuman. I wonder if it would be an amateur sport, just individuals riding an offical bike, with no teams, big bucks and all infrastructure that ruin the entertainment and beauty of sport. There would be nothing like these performances. In conclusion money makes things worse. I think I will stop watching and enjoy riding, just as I did when Armstrong was dominating.

  3. The reason I don't believe Tadej is cheating is because it would be way too obvious. If he were cheating, he wouldn't ride Ving off his wheel up every big climb and then put minutes into him. He'd make it closer. He'd make it look like a race. He'd win with a total lead of less than two minutes, not approaching 10. He's just the most dominant ride I've ever seen, and I'm 61 years old. Even Armstrong in his prime cheating days would get ridden off the wheel.

  4. Tradej’s Zone 2 rides are 320-340 watts continuously for 5 hours with a heart rate of 140-145bpm. I’m certainly not an exceptional rider but I am a dedicated recreational ride. I have competed at our state time trail and have multiple friends who are excellent amateur racers. I have years of personal power data and know the power data of my friends. Tadej’s power numbers aren’t just exceptional, they are super human. I hope he’s clean but I’m suspicious.

  5. Uniqueness brings baggage I guess, but POG is unbelievably strong and awesome Athlete!
Not naive but he gets tested every stage win etc ,so zero chance he and the team have any skeletons.

  6. After the doping scandals of yesteryear I am sure anyone wanting to dope would make very very sure that it was kept ultra secret with only the rider and the doctor involved. The lessons of the previous era is that if you are going to do it, it CANNOT be an open secret in the team. Therefore the argument I have just heard won't work. As for all the Vo2 stuff and "clever, scientific training" you talk about – they are all doing it. He may well be a genetic ultra freak amongst the usual TDF genetic freaks but unfortunately for him the sins of the sport in the past cannot be wiped away so easily when you are so far ahead of the rest.

BTW it is over. It was won at stage 6.

  7. It's too early to claim with any certainty that Pogacar is undoubtedly clean. Armstrong's case took years to unravel. He won his first Tour in 1999, but the full picture didn't emerge until more than a decade later. During much of that time, many people publicly defended him or stayed silent.

  8. Rumots about his doping sre judt – rumots. He is unjustifiedly accuse of doping ADDITIONALLY just because he is from a small nation. If he would be French, German or Belgian there would not be whistles and accusations. Face it.

  9. Right and Hogan ate his veggis and vitamins. No one has ever made a so drastic improvement as pogi after he “ was dead” its not like he was laying on the sofa eating snacks and then whent ooo i better go traning insted comon. You have your right to belive he is clean but to me it is utterly ridiculus.

  10. Why has she never raised that question about Vingegaard, ‘her boy’ Wout, MvdP, Seixas…?!

She then goes on to say “no one in the peloton/teams I’ve spoken with ever raised any suspicion”… but started the segment saying “there are suspicions”. And she never misses the opportunity to play the innocent “he’s a great champion.. but.. you know… we gotta ask…”.

No other sport has such horrible reporters, who don’t explain or try to understand the evolution of the sport they cover, and who even suggest a rider “should gift wins” to other riders. They just can’t appreciate greatness, or they just have sour grapes cause their boy, who has a weird career curve out of nowhere that does remind us of some riders from the 90s/00s, no longer wins it.

  11. in every sport is one on the top… duplantis, phelps, bolt and and and… all are doper…? no… and even if pogacar is 2 minutes better, that is 1 or 2 km… on a stage from 200km… he isnt 20 km better, only a few hundreds meters… and i dont find, that isnt human… thats normal….

  12. Proud that you all went there and spoke so candidly.
What JV explains also goes for Motors in bikes. THIS is the reason, more so that the technical challenges, why we can be confident it's never happened at the PRO level.

  13. It is not mentioned enough but the team built around him is incredible. Pogacar can spend 2 or 3 stages chilling on the bike without efforts because his team do all the work.
