Looking for guidance on bringing my grandfathers old ten speed back to life

After sitting in my parents basement for just about 30 years a little air in the tires and it still rides and shifts. I’d like to keep it mostly original but I would like to modernize the drive train and controls with a 1×10 and new levers. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
