The sprinters who survived the Pyrenees, the Massif Central, and Bastille Day’s brutal Puy Mary finally get their clearest chance yet. This 161.3 km route animation covers the flat run from the historic spa town of Vichy to Nevers.
📍 Stage 11 Overview
– Date: Wednesday, July 15, 2026
– Distance: 161.3 km — Vichy → Nevers
– Classification: Flat / Sprint stage
– Elevation gain: ~1,800m
– Start: 13:50 CEST | Finish: ~17:40 CEST
🗺 Route Character
– Riders follow the Allier river north out of Vichy for 57 km
– At Moulins, the route shifts toward the Loire, crossing it before looping south into Nevers
– Two Cat. 4 climbs along the way — not enough to trouble the sprinters, but tricky terrain for breakaway hopes
– Nevers hosts the Tour for the 4th time, with all three previous visits ending in bunch sprints (Eric Leman 1971, Guido Bontempi 1986, Alessandro Petacchi 2003)
🚴 With Jasper Philipsen, Tim Merlier, Biniam Girmay, and Mads Pedersen all still in the hunt, expect a full-scale bunch sprint — if their teams have the legs left to control it after back-to-back mountain days.
