France Travel & Living Resources

After more than thirty years of visualizing living in France, researching every possibility, and returning again and again for vacations, holidays, antique shopping and home searches, I made the move from the United States to France in 2018.

Semi-retired. 62 years old. Fulfilling a dream.

Eight years in, there’s no looking back.

Moving to France is one of my best top 5 decisions in life.

The France Travel & Living Series is a collection of titles written from an insider’s journey. Not theory. Not secondhand advice. A lived, firsthand blueprint built from 30 years of dreams, 20 years of vision and goals, and 8 years of real interactions with prefectures (government offices), visa centers, landlords, electric companies, bankers, Immobilier (real estate agents) shopkeepers, and everyday French life. It moves beyond surface-level to offer a grounded, informed perspective on what it means to engage with France across different layers鈥攆rom considering a move, navigating resident permits & visas, to buying or renting a home in France, settling in, to exploring its regions with greater depth and intention. Each title reflects not only practical knowledge, but the slow accumulation of familiarity that comes from returning to France across decades, then choosing to make it home.

The France Travel & Living Series brings together resources on relocation and retiring in France, cultural exploration, wine regions, travel planning and itineraries. Designed for readers who are drawn to France not just as a destination but as a way of life, the collection of titles blends clarity and utility, shaped by immersion, designed to provide the knowledge and confidence to explore, travel, and begin a new chapter in France.
