  1. Shame for Jonas. Hope he heals well. And difficult to say, but I think we saw even more of Tadej’s class today. Was he going 100% for the finish line, or happy to let Remco shine..?

  3. One of the weirdest day in cycling history, the #2 hit the deck with a broken bone and the TT guy who can hardly follow the main pack in the mountains win the stage !!! go figure what he had for breakfast….

  4. Pidcock is a nuisance for the GC guys.
Hope Jonas recover soon and come back stronger next seasons.
Pogi is right to gain lead as much as possible in early stages. Mishaps could pop up any time.

  5. Tadej couldve taken the stage…he has the power for 1 bike length (or less). He didnt want it. But not a good stage to win your 26th yellow jersey if Jonas was out already. Didnt play out for Torito on the last meters… so he let Remco have ot instead– it's obvious. Chapeau Tadej. Parents raised him really well.

  6. Selfish riding by Del Tora, halfway up the final climb it was clear that he was on the rivet, while Remco was as cool as a cucumber and getting a dream tow up the mountain by Tadej. There was no chance Del Tora would get past Remco in a sprint, as much as Tadej wanted it to happen.
Del Tora should have tried to genuinely jump away with four kms to go, get Remco to chase and given Tadej a sit on for the last four kms. and a good chance of winning. There is no way that Tadej gifted Remco the stage – he was exhausted after dragging along Remco and Del Tora

  7. my gutfeel on the finish of todays stage is: Pogi has got a few things that he wants to achieve in his career (IMHO) 1. win the most amount of TDF overall 2. win the most stages in the TDF 3. be the GOAT 4. make $$$$ – with foregoing stage 15, he got plus points (big plus points) on 3 and 4, did not lose any on 1. and yes, missed 1 opportunity on 2. but he knows he will not struggle to achieve this goal over the next 3 years (he needs another 11 wins, averaging 3.6 each year). i am not saying that he exactly did those calculations the last 22kms of the race, but his instinct gave him the nudge not to go for the stage…

  8. The reason why Pidcock 'might' be the first top10GC rider in a tdf breakaway 3days in a row is that it used to be frowned upon (among riders) to do so as it basically means 0 chance for the breakaway to succeed i.e other gc teams gonna chase.
