Join me from Maschsee lake in Hannover, Germany’s most STUNNING artificial lake! The Maschsee was created in the 1930s (construction took place between 1934-1936) as a public works project. It’s quite substantial – about 2.4 kilometers long and covers roughly 78 hectares. The lake sits south of the city center and is easily accessible.
There’s a lovely park and promenade around the entire lake, making it perfect for walking, jogging, cycling, or just relaxing. The lake itself is used for various water activities like sailing, rowing, and paddleboating. There are also restaurants and cafés along the shoreline.
The Maschsee hosts various events throughout the year, including the Maschseefest, which is a popular summer festival with food, music, and entertainment along the lakefront.
It’s become one of Hannover’s most beloved recreational spaces and a real asset to the city – a nice green lung where people can escape the urban environment without leaving the city. #germany #hannover #maschsee #artificiallake
