How to spend 3 days in Marseille β the most underrated euro summer city in Europe, and everyone books Nice instead π Loud, diverse, covered in colour and street art, full of Turkish shops, West African restaurants, croissants and bouillabaisse. This is the city Nice wishes it had the personality to be.

Day 1 β Old Port mornings, the colourful Cours Julien stairs, and a hidden swim spot near the MuCEM where the waterβs so clear you forget youβre in a city. Then Le Panier all afternoon: basil sorbet, β¬2 espressos, getting pleasantly lost β before dinner at one of the West African or Middle Eastern spots that were, hands down, the best food of the whole trip.
Day 2 β meant to be Les Calanques (turquoise water, white cliffs, the full postcard). I ran out of time thanks to FΓͺte de la Musique chaos, so consider this my official excuse to go back.
Day 3 β slow it right down: β¬1.30 dates from a tiny shop in Noailles, a Lime bike to the beach, and sunset up at Notre-Dame de la Garde over the whole of Marseille and the Med.
And because I was there for FΓͺte de la Musique, the nights were a whole event of their own β the entire city spilling into Cours Julien, live music on every corner, dancing in the street πΆ
