It came in at 32lb, was hoping for a bit less :/ but I guess the frame is on the heavy side and maybe some of those older 3×7 groupset bits …. Despite us going for a nicer dynamo wheel, Tubus front rack , and lighter Schwalbe tires . But it rides very smooth and is ready for anything 🙂

She just sometimes will need to carry the bike up stairs and weight savings would then be nice .

    Touring wheels ain’t light! Especially dynamos. That triple might could be a much lighter modern double with the same range for far less weight, that’s where I’d look

    A good practical build right there! Touring bikes should be burly and a bit heavy. You’re not worried about a few pounds when you’re carrying water, food, clothes, tent, etc

    Nice bike. Any reason you went for mismatched brakes (V/canti) and shifters (Shimano/SRAM)?

    32lb is solid for a steel tourer honestly. She’ll manage the stairs just fine.
