Coming at y’all from middle Georgia. Here is my Bridgestone MB-5.
I have really got into this Xbiking thing. I watch fb marketplace like a hawk. I have had several projects over the past year, some that I really liked. Some that just got kind of ridiculous.
There were a few posts I remember seeing though where I was like “damn”. That’s what I want.
I drove 10 hours round trip to pick up this Bridgestone, paid $100. Drop bar conversion, bar end shifters from the parts bin. Origin 8 stem & pedals. Planet Bike tape, Pure Cycles rack. And the fenders to complete it. (I do have a set of Billy bonkers, but I felt like these old Serfas tires actually had a bit of character.)
Altogether this wasn’t a ridiculous build. The drive was a bit crazy, but this is my new favorite bike. So thanks for the inspiration. I love seeing the bikes!
*edit – Also 105 levers from the bin, PDW cargo web(I love the little spider), the rack mount did take a bit of modification to work with the canti brakes.

Love those Drifters, I had them on a previous bike. I came close to getting them again for my current one.
Riding them on wet or even slightly damp is hilarious, it sounds like you’re riding on bubble wrap.
How are you liking the drops? Tires definitely have character.
That orange kryptonite lock against the black frame is a killer combo, and 10 hours for a $100 MB-5 is dedication paying off.
Great looking bike, I’m about to convert a 1988 Japanese built MB4 to drops over the next few weeks/months.
