  1. Usual slick presentation as always Trevor, knowledgeable decription and outcome immediately .Shows provenance is so important as with an XR23 ridden by Barry. Like you , thought the older BMW GS was a steal , remember seeing an identical one abandoned outside a house for over a year and eventually enquired whether it was for sale as it had moved slightly, to be told it sold the previous day for a grand !.

  2. As someone who can’t help buying 1990s Sportbikes, there’s a few there I’d happily add to my collection..

They seem to go for less than typical eBay prices, but those fees plus vat must be the sting in the tail for getting a good deal.

  3. The RG500 was the most faithful of the 500 GP replicas the engine was exactly the same layout right down to the cassette gearbox the differences were the race bike had a dry clutch, magnesium crankcases with bigger carbs and more aggressive porting whereas the Gamma had the SAEC exhaust valve to make it more usable on the road.
The race bike produced around 130 bhp and the Gamma around 95bhp.

  4. This auction house needs to be stopped. Ridiculous the amount they want. We are all struggling in todays world. So why should they get away with ripping people off

  5. I'd like to know if it was a genuine Sheene bike because when i was at the races there were more ex Sheene bikes on the grid than Suzuki seemed to have made, you'd look down the programme and it was no 37 ex Sheene RG500, no 53 ex Sheene RG500, No 68 ex Sheene RG500 etc etc. Lovely looking bike though.

  6. The RD500 is the only one that is nothing like the racing bike of the period, it is just two tzr250’s cast together in a completely different dedign. The RG is almost identical engine wise to the RG racer mainly just detuned. The NSR us also very similar.
