  2. A classic van der Poel victory: He has to deliver a win because no one else on his team is currently capable of doing so. And even though everyone knows he’ll attack on this stage, he makes it into the decisive group. He keeps the breakaway group going, encourages them, and even takes the lead for long stretches. On the final long climb, he attacks to thin out the group. And in the end, he launches a relentless sprint to the finish. To me, that's what makes a top-notch cyclist: the ability to win even without a top-tier team!
