Located near Kirkwood, the trail offers up that old school backcountry vibe that's getting harder to find. Think massive granite slabs, chunky volcanic rock, alpine meadows, wildflowers, and a true backcountry feel. The climb will humble you, but the descent is worth the effort.

Thunder Mountain is well known at this point, calling it underrated is a stretch
It is pretty fun and it feels like you’re way the fuck out there. The climb is pretty brutal though. 7/10 would do again
