After about a year of slowly picking out and acquiring parts, I have finally finished my very first complete build. Lots of lessons learned through the process but am really stoked with how it all came together. Hardest part for me was learning how to set up and bleed hydraulic brakes, triple checking measurements for spoke length, second guessing myself on the wheel building process (turns out it isn’t THAT bad), and just measuring and committing on cutting steerer tube. List of some of the major components below.
- Frame: Wilde Rambler
- Stem and Headset: Velo Orange
- Handlebars: Crust Towel Rack
- Wheels: SimWorks Rims, Sapim Spokes, Son 28 Hub (Front), White Industries Hub (Rear), UltraDynamico rubber.
- Groupset: Shimano GRX 820 1×12 10-51 w/ Madrone Jab derailleur.
- Chainring and Crank: White Industries
I’ve since added a Nitto front and rear rack and Edelux II front light. Rear rack might not work as the clearance is just barely 3mm so in the process of trying to figure out a solution there if anyone has any thoughts!
