Alone, he weathered the high-altitude storms of K2, climbed Everest without oxygen and without Sherpas, and reached the mountain from Sweden by bicycle, covering eleven thousand kilometers under his own power. The Himalayas let Göran Kropp go again and again. He survived what kills others: the “Savage Mountain,” the death zone, the deadliest peaks on Earth. But it wasn’t a mountain that killed him. 1. This man was crazy. Who bikes to a mountain from Sweden?! Just climbing the mountain wears you out, plus acclimatizing then going down the mountain and biking back?! He’s crazy

  2. Same old story. Climber is accomplished and skilled but rolls the dice one too many times. Adrenalin junkies. No respect for the gift of life.
