I went to Doncaster 5K with one plan: get to the front and make it hurt.
From the gun, the pace was electric — faster than I’ve opened all season — and by 1km I’d committed fully. No hiding, no sitting in. Just pure intent.

I led this race all the way to 4.2km, fighting the wind, the pace, and the pack behind me. And when the move finally came, that’s where the real story starts — the grit, the response, and the finish that mattered more than the position.

This one wasn’t just a race. It was a marker. A reminder of where the fitness is, where the fire is, and what’s coming next in the build toward Valencia.

If you’re into honest racing, front‑running chaos, and the reality of chasing elite goals — this one’s for you.

  1. Well run Gareth – A pb 5kms is not that far away for you on that performance – As you know I do the Loxley Lash 5kms in Sheffield – 5 laps and the long straight on a cycle path – hardwork when you are as slow as me but enjoyable

  2. Fantastic running squire. The times will come no probs. Keep up the good work. Iris is adorable, congrats to you both. And I hope the burger was good 😋
