Too much stuff overall. And you really don’t need to pack all this food traveling in France. Well it can be hard to find something opened on a sunday but that’s it.

  2. I would remove some of the food and warm stuff. It’s 35 degrees right now in France…

Far, far too much. For starters you don’t need sleeves or base layers or gloves. You know how warm it is in France right now right?

    Get rid of:

    Electric pump

Most clothes (take two shirts and a few pairs of underwear, only one pair of shorts. For this time of year you’ll need nearly zero clothes. Utilise your sleeping bag and tent for warmth. Just keep a down jacket for emergency) No cycling bib and cycling shirt. Just take two short sleeved tops. They all serve the same purpose and you’re not going for PBs.

Headphones (use smaller earphones if necessary)

    Spare derailleur. No need.

    Shower gel

    Deodorant

    Hankercheif (wtf?)

Big towel (small one only is fine)

    Wet wipes

Swim pants (use the same shorts youre cycling in)

    mosquito net

Sleeping bag liner (too heavy, takes up too much space. To retain longevity of sleeping bag just wash it once it starts clumping)

Sitting mat (use the ground or objects like tree stumps)

    Camping light

    Chair

Dish washing stuff. Just use streams or leaves or grass to get excess food off.

Replace travel pillow with inflatable camping pillow

IMO regarding shoes I personally go for flat pedals and trail running shoes only. No other shoes. Saves a lot of space and weight.

Personally I’d also argue you don’t need a lock but I’m risky

Food is very personal but I personally don’t take things like oil. Too heavy Keep it as simple as possible.

  4. Don’t understand why others have criticised the packing – doesn’t seem ridiculous to me, aside from maybe the whole spare derailleur. Bon voyage, have a lovely trip!
