    Vlog#205 Visiting Noe shelter in Budapest 🐶🐱🦡



    I had a cycle to a local animal shelter to visit the many animals they have, including a badger! I took along some food and milk for the cats and dogs and said hello to some of the residents 🥰

    We’re Dean & Nala, and we’ve been best friends since December 2018. I was cycling around the world when I heard Nala meowing out for me somewhere in the Bosnian mountains. With no intentions of keeping Nala, I knew i had to save the wee kitten and take her to the vet – but I was well aware of the fact that it might be a bit of a challenge considering I only had a bike. However, despite my concerns, Nala quickly climbed out of the front bag on the bike handle and straight onto my shoulder. Since then, we’ve been travelling the world together.       Dear Dean, you are such a good shepherd and ambassador for all these homeless pets and I truly hope they find a loving, caring home soon. People should spay the animals for not getting more shelters filled. Its truly a man made problem, this mass of animals. Thank you for showing all these shelters around the world to make a change. Adopt don't shop. Lovely how Nala greets you and is giving you love bites. Adorable Team. You make the world a better place. ❤🙏

      I know it’s a constant battle — overwhelming at times — but I hope that part of the shelter’s education is to emphasize spaying and neutering to curtail populations of cats and dogs. Unwanted and discarded animals didn’t ask to be born to lead difficult lives. We as humans need to be the voice of and to advocate for their well being. Additionally, part of the shelter’s mission is — I hope — to provide dog training or at least to provide sources for dog training. All in all, it’s a sad situation to see so many dogs and cats in peril. On the other hand, it’s heart warming to see rescue centers who truly care and are dedicated to helping animals.

      Just before viewing this, I was looking at craig's list for some garden stuff, and someone is selling kittens for 800 bucks not vaccinated, not spayed or neutered… Makes me so angry.

      07/14/26: Congratulations! Welcome to (approximately) your 90th Mercury Rx! (06/29/26—07/23/26). At least you weren't on vacation in midtown Manhattan when the residents of hotels were catapulted out of their hotels by alarms when a nearby skyscraper, being renovated, threatened to collapse (remember the pancaking during 09/11?). So there they were, two ladies from Scotland, stranded without their money and passports, on the sidewalk, wondering what to do next.

      Oh this hurts my heart seeing all these beautiful dogs. I have been looking for a small dog for nearly nine months. The Kennels have mostly large dogs but you could pay between $ 1.500 to $4000. Maybe some of these lovely shelters would allow overseas adoptions, they may work out less $$$ for us and a good price we would be willing to pay for your dogs. ❤️🐕🇦🇺❤️🐕

      Another great video. I saw your post about finding the kitten in Budapest, and it really hit home.

      I'm a veterinary technician in the U.S., and this past weekend, when I opened our clinic, there was a tiny 4-week-old kitten waiting by our front door. We took her in and did everything we could for her. That evening I saw your post, and I couldn't help but think how strange it was that, on the very same day, we had both found little stray kittens.

      Sadly, after two days of fighting, the little girl I named Warrior lost her battle. She had come to us just a little too late.

      I'm not writing this for praise. Caring for animals is simply what I believe I was put on this earth to do. Sometimes we can't change the outcome, but we can make sure an animal knows warmth, comfort, safety, and love instead of suffering alone outside. I think that matters.

      If you've made it this far, I'd just ask one small favor: please remember Warrior. She was only here for a very short time, but she mattered, and she was loved.

      Very much enjoyed the vlog. Bringing awareness to the dogs and cats that are in shelters is amazing! My hope is that people will rescue one of these beautiful noses! ❤️🐾❤️🐾

      I would have gotten a seat softening thing while you were there. My building tests alarms 2 times a year my poor cat has suffered through it. Luckily no real fires (KOW) it will never happen I have insurance. That bikes place is good not something I have come across is good idea cafe and fixing bikes 🙂 Nice to see you at a local shelter wonderful to have donors who are generous to donate 🙂 I have donated to my local shelter where my cat comes from. I hope local people or anyone traveling there will come and see them or adopt or donate. It's wonderful what they do and they keep them for a long time unlike some places. Nala I think will know you have been with other cats and things but she's a good understanding girl a real sweetheart. Her Dad is an amazing human 🙂

      I find it so hard to watch any videos at animal shelters. I find myself weeping and hugging my cat even more tightly than usual, grateful he doesn't have to suffer as other animals do. I have said it before and I will say it again: you and Nala are earth angels, sent to make this world a better place for all living creatures x

      A fire alarm is not the best wakeup call.🥱 Bike is ready and sparkling . A fantastic trolley load of pet food/ treats. So good of you Dean. Seems a range of diverse animals there. Thank God for those decent humane people that care so much about animals. Yes educating the public is so important as well. What a wonderful place to work though. That would be my ideal workplace. If i had wealth i would have opened an animal sanctuary.Nala loves you😊😻❤️
