Hey everyone, I need some fitting advice.

I'm currently owning an Ultimate CF SL 7 in L. The size is generally fine, however, I always feel just a tiny bit too much stretched out, which makes me hanging in my shoulders when I ride > 1.5-2 hours. I never tried a shorter stem because I didn't want to pay 400€ for the integrated cockpit, but moved my saddle forward.

Hence, as I wanted to upgrade I reconsidered the size. As you can see, it's difficult.

I've ridden both sizes, and it's really a close call. The M feels a bit small, although that might be because I'm not used to it, but I'm afraid it'll become too exhausting on longer rides. The stem was all the way up with all the spacers, and I feel like removing any of them would be to far down. So I'm afraid there's little options for adjustment. Of course, it felt a little more agile.
The L felt extremely similar to my Ultimate, so I'd assume I might have the same issues – but generally the frame felt okay.

I know that, when in doubt, you should generally size down. I'm just afraid that the stack on the M might be just too low. Is it maybe an option to go for M and get a longer stem / PACE cockpit thingy or with an L and a shorter one?

I'll appreciate any advice.

It appears you are looking for bike fitting help. Please make sure you post as screenshot of the Canyon size chart for your bike, with your point in it. See [this example](https://imgur.com/a/ALUfXyy)

  2. Current aeroad and ultimate are almost identical in geometry, so that should give you some indication.

I’m similar to you in the sense that I’m 87/185cm with an L ultimate (2022) and I got it pretty dialed in with a bikefit. A slight shorter reach would’ve helped but replacing the cockpit would’ve been expensive. I “grew into it”.

A bit difficult to say without knowing about other body sizes, itll be influenced by the length of your arms as well, but I’ve been told going for the size up would be beneficial for endurance as there’d be less strain on your back/neck. I like to do weekly long rides and so far doing well. Though that’s probably not why you’d buy an aeroad.

Tl;dr: no clue so let me know what you went with

  3. I’m 90/184cm and took the M with aerobars (1cm more reach). I tried the L asweel at Canyon but reach was too long for me. BUT on the size M you will have a more aggressiv position than on the size L due to a lower stack to reach and higher sattle to handlebar drop..

I am 184 and 87. I have same prediciment. But I always like higher stack….better for endurance

Bottom line I would do large

Same size as me, almost, just my legs are a 2cm longer, but I took M and happy with it.

If your wingspan is longer than 184 cm, go for the L. If it’s shorter, go for the M. Both will fit if you’re flexible anyway, so there’s really no win or lose.
