We started our ride directly from Kamp Danica in Bohinjska Bistrica and followed the beautiful, well-marked Bohinj Cycling Path all the way to Ukanc at the western end of Lake Bohinj.Route OverviewDistance: 13.5 km (one way)

Difficulty: Easy to moderate
Surface: Mostly smooth asphalt cycle path (very bike-friendly)

Route DescriptionWe left Kamp Danica and immediately joined the official Bohinjska kolesarska pot (Bohinj Cycling Route). The path starts right next to the campsite — just follow the signs and cross the wooden bridge over the Sava Bohinjka river.The first section takes you through peaceful meadows and along the river with nice views of the surrounding mountains. The path is wide, well-paved, and almost completely car-free. As we continued, we reached the area around Ribčev Laz and Stara Fužina, where Lake Bohinj finally comes into full view. This is one of the most beautiful parts of the ride — the lake appears between the trees with the Julian Alps in the background.From here, the route follows the cycling path along the northern shore of the lake. The scenery gets even better as you ride closer to the water with constant views of the lake and the mountains. The path stays mostly flat with only gentle slopes.We continued riding until we reached Ukanc, the small settlement at the western tip of the lake. Ukanc is home to Camping Bohinj (also known as Camp Zlatorog) and is the starting point for the famous Savica Waterfall.Highlights Along the WayPeaceful riding along the Sava Bohinjka river
