Slowly getting my mid school grail bike together and just ran into a snag. I test fit a section of 1/8 shadow interlock v2 chain and it doesn’t fit. Any idea what size chain I need?

Just a regular single speed bmx chain should fit, unless your old profile black jack is the thicker teeth version.
Mid era is a mixed bag for its end era for parts, cassette drives aren’t so much considered mid, but either way a half link chain definitely wouldn’t be mid era correct

I run that sprocket. You want a KMC 510 chain – most BMX brands use them as a basis for their own branded chains (Cult, Odyssey Bluebird etc).
Alternatively look into the KMC Z1 Wide, seems to be the current name of the old Z510 chain

You probably need a 3/16” chain. KMC 415H chain, also need an ACS fat freewheel.
I remember running these with the fat chains that ate up the sprocket.
