to me it doesn’t look like a brand new cassette. it’s definitely still totally fine to use, but if it was a brand new bike there really shouldn’t be any wear on the cassette like that.

Rule # 1: One cannot inspect a chain and cassette visually and tell you if it is good or worn. You must equip yourself with chain wear tool and try a new chain on your old cassette to check if it skips under load.
