The frame size is perfect for me, but I don’t know if this Trek is worth the money versus buying a new Scott Spark 970 on sale which comes with a warranty.

I am not familiar with your market but I would say it is too much. It has entry components on now maybe 5 yo frame that doesnt look like its been take care for.
I would compare with similar specd bikes and price range in your market, but I am pretty sure you can get better bike for your money.
