After cycling out of Stockholm, I knew the plan for Sweden was simple: Ride as much gravel as possible and enjoy the nature.

The first three days delivered exactly that. Quiet gravel roads, good weather, and the kind of riding I’d been hoping for the whole way down.

One thing made this trip different from my usual bikepacking: I had a fixed deadline. A flight to Thailand was already booked, which meant covering 700km in 7 days, no room to wait out bad weather or add a rest day.

That caught up with me in the second half. The weather turned and the last few days were mostly rain, which changed the mood of the ride quite a bit. Riding on a strict schedule instead of by feel is a different kind of trip, and I learned that the hard way.

I rode the whole route on my 26+ Stridsland Beachcomber, and it was amazing! Even on a +100KM daily grind.

Would I plan a trip this tight again? Probably not. But the first half alone made it worth it.

Shoutout to KNOG for the support. Not much night riding this trip since the days are so long, but it’s still good to know I’ve got a light if something doesn’t go as planned. Also been running the KNOG Scout alarm. Comes in clutch for bikepacking peace of mind.

Thanks for watching.

  1. Loved the video, have you ever used the Welcome To My Garden app? It's really cool for meeting great people, and it's much cheaper than staying at campsites every time. Used it this month for bikepacking too and highly recommend !
