A classic mid-week ride through Dorset’s backroads — from Bournemouth to Wimborne, up through the Tarant villages and over the Tarrant Rushton airfield climb. Expect plenty of local colour, traffic chat, lane-riding commentary and a few laughs along the way.
This was meant to be Friday’s ride, but with storms on the horizon, Thursday proved the perfect choice. Join Mike on a real-world look at Dorset cycling — the roads, the rhythm, and the quiet country lanes that make this county such a joy to explore.

Always enjoy your content and ramblings. I travel the world for a living (currently in Kazakhstan having flown from China yesterday). I’m a Dorset cyclist living in Pamphill and absolutely love the route your route here, one of my favourites. We are so blessed to live where we do. Never done that hill up to Tarrant Ruston Airfield, will give it a go next time 😮💨
Glad it's not just my wahoo that takes the mick on climbs 😂 I think Powys might contest the quietest lanes title, but Devon is certainly out of contention.
Mike thank you for another ride. You are doing great 3 day a week sounds like a good plan especially with the amount of miles you do. A little lite on the wheelers wisdom today. Bunkie
Mike that was not a gap ha ha who dreams this stuff up well that's simple butt heads .
1:14 , “I’m pleased you’re thinking of a name for Tuesdays! I’ve got a few ideas myself, but I wasn’t sure if they’d be appropriate — DGGOAP’s 😂😂😂
Enjoyed that, don't get out that way since moving west, stuck enjoying Moreton, Tincleton & West Stafford.
Great ride! 💯
