You can cycle from Loughborough Junction in south London to Tulse Hill entirely on quiet streets and protected cycle lanes.
The route is 4.4km long (2.7 miles) and makes use of the Railton LTN, Streatham Hill LTN, and other improvements along the route.

Great ride. It always seems to be drivers of SUV’s who seem to be the most aggressive. Avoid confrontation and ride on
Jon, an update on Arthur St leading down from King William at London Bride to Upper Thames and onto the Embankment – half of the street is open and though far from finished the future cycle lane and pedestrian path is clearly demarcated so cyclists are starting to use it.
On the day you recorded, i thought the route through Brockwell Park made the route. Another great video on a sunny day. Thanks.
Rough landing
I think the guy in the car was shouting out, “how nice your bike is “
This is good route, you can go right through the park and exit into Cressingham Gardens if you feel adventurous, I do that sometimes, or go from Water Lane through the park to that side entrance you passed as you started to climb. Even with the cycle lane I still avoid that bit of Norwood Road going that south. I used to go right over Tulse Hill in preference, in the old days. Going north I don't mind it so much. Either go this way through High Trees, which look better now, or just use Rosendale, which they do seem to be extending into West Dulwich south of the ring road, at the moment? Not sure but lot of works there. If only there was a way from Palace Rd to West Norwood that didn't involve Norwood Rd or Leighham Court Rd. That whole area has very few parking restrictions and basically no cycle lanes at all it's the dark ages in that regard. Is there a worse postcode than SE27? Can't think of one… Anyway great content as ever. I always enjoy the familiar ones especially.
that section outside Herne Hill station and through Brockwell Park is a great example of just how awesome summers in London are 🙂
A very friendly guy rides a old school penny farthing around there. (Actually I heard there are two people that do). Cycled with him on a Lime Bike chatting down Railton Road not so long ago. Made me realise just how great these schemes are for socialising and getting Londoners meeting eachother
@2:13 "I assume (they) were apologising…"). Sir: You're a cycling diplomat! Loving this route as I do most. I always enjoy 'cycling' with you.
I feel like the route could be a bit more direct and less hilly if it went down loveplace Rd and elmcourt rd – it does drop you off on the other side of the station though
I wouldn't cycle up the quit esteep Trinity Rise, around the houses and back down to avoid a short ride along the admittedly quite busy Norwood Road. BIt of a faff.
Would love a Tower Bridge -> Redbridge Roundabout video
Perhaps the fella in the car was shouting, "Love your work….huge fan!" 😁
ohh coldharbor lane, shout out to anyone who went to the 414 back in the day.
Is Norwood road flatter. I'm never doing hills. But it's always good to learn where the cut off points are 𝕏
RE the seating: the problems begin after the pubs close and continue to 2 or 3 in the morning with unsocial 'revellers' increasingly off their heads. Nothing you can do about it either, for obvious reasons.
tbh, I'd just leave the park in the SE corner and stick to Norwood Road for 400m
I made a comment on another video, but I will actually be moving to Herne Hill instead of Islington and would love a Herne Hill to Bloomsbury (or anywhere else interesting!)
I used to live in this area, I lived on Railton Road at one time, and 2 days ago actually went to Brockwell Park to ride the bmx track. I rode loads of times from Brixton through Tulse Hill to West Norwood. I would never have used such a convoluted route. Ridiculous.
2:14 Mate you’re not alone I can relate this happens to me all the time 😅
