I have recently bought a Kona Sutra Microshift with preinstalled mudguards. What's weird is that the distance between mudguard and tire is less than a mm and at least twice per turn actually touches the tire causing some noise.
To me that raises two questions:
Was this installed correctly in the factory and is my tire not perfectly round?
Although I've been bicycle touring for a couple years already, I'm still a noob when it comes to bike repair so please bear with me, I'm willing to learn!

It looks like there’s a spacer there, the black part. Try removing it, that should be enough clearance. You could also try a different screw, button cap screws are shorter.
