The Le Puy Camino (Via Podiensis) is one of the most spectacular pilgrimage routes in Europe.

It begins in Le Puy-en-Velay and runs 750km across France to Saint‑Jean‑Pied‑de‑Port.

Unlike many Camino routes, this one doesn’t end in Santiago. Instead, pilgrims arrive in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port — the traditional starting point of the Camino Francés — and many continue walking all the way to Santiago de Compostela.

Along the way you pass through some of the most beautiful towns and villages in France, including Conques and Cahors, with stunning medieval architecture, charming countryside, and incredible regional cuisine.

For many pilgrims, the Le Puy route is where the Camino journey truly begins.
