Better than my monstrous attempt. But I still ride it because it’s functional and I don’t care.

Good enough to leave it until it needs replaced. You did wrap it in the wrong direction, though. Probably fine, but next time follow a tutorial

  3. Not great. I always wrap it with a very tight overlap just above the shifters, because that’s where you require the most cushioning and the tape moves the most. Generally I would overlap the tape more.

You can watch every single guide there is on youtube but this is something that simply takes practice. I don’t ride with drops but I have bar tape on my cruiser bars and the first couple tries it was either on way too thick or it worked it’s way loose. All it takes is unravelling and going around again, but tighter.

  5. It’ll do for now. You wrapped backwards – tape should be wrapped down the outside of the bar, and up the inside. Then at the levers, a slightly different looping and/or a bonus strip of tape around the clamp band to cover the whole bar.

You can always unwrap it and try again! If it’s foam tape with adhesive, it’ll be kinda dicey to get it off in a reusable piece, but that stuff is usually pretty cheap anyhow.

Not perfect, fine for a first attempt. Not worth taking your mouth.

  7. Siting side-wards at the bike, from the inner side, down, to the outer side, up, .repeat. Then the italian 8 and you’re good to go.

See that metal part under the hood? Next time you can cut a small piece off and wrap it around under the other bar tape to cover it

You did better job then me last time – minus the wrong direction that will be annoying if you ride lots on drops – definitely keep until used though

Look up you tubes that show you the figure 8 around the levers. I just did 2 of my bikes and yes patience and practice.

Learn to do a figure 8 around the hoods or use a cheater strip to cover up the shifter clamp.
