In my country, Romania, we don't genuinely have a cycling culture, as people usually prefer other means of transportation, such as local buses or personal vehicles. Cars are often favoured over other options because the infrastructure is mainly designed for drivers. Car culture is deeply rooted in our DNA, and, despite some initial reform, we still remain light-years behind other Western European countries. For example, in my city, even though there is some cycling infrastructure, most of it is used by pedestrians instead. I believe that to promote cycling as a viable method, we must prioritize reducing our reliance on personal vehicles, and only from that point, can we start building true cycling paths. Additionally, even though I passed my driving test, I'm not eager to drive on such chaotic roads, and prefer public transport instead.

Very useful ❤
What does 0:20 are up mean?
I cycle to work, really reduces my carbon footprint, dont you think?
I'm American, and I find cycling culture in European countries fascinating. Americans may not ride bikes as much per capita as many European countries, but the cyclists we do have are enthusiastic! There's an organization called the League of American Bicyclists that ranks states by how bike-friendly they are. Washington State is #1, and my home state of Utah comes in at #14. Utah may not be as friendly for commuting or roadside bike travel as Washington, but I'd argue it has some of the best mountain biking in the world!
(Side note: "per capita" is such a useful phrase for comparisons like this — worth adding to your vocabulary if you haven't used it before!)
So awesome
Cycling in Dubai??? Hmmm,,,,,,I'm skeptical of it but it would be a nice milestone if that succeeded. EVs are taking off the city.
Hi, as usual this episode was very interesting thanks.
