recently purchased a kryptonite evolution bike lock and after my first time using it to commute, i was unable to get the bottom part reattached when i removed my lock for my return trip. I emailed kryptonite back in early june but haven’t heard back so wanted to see if anyone here has experienced similar or potentially had a solution. i’ve tried finagling it a number of different ways and can’t get it back on.

U-locks are made to need the key for the locking plates to open and allow the shackle to be reinserted. If you remove the key it’ll “lock” the barrels and not let the u shaped shackle go back in. Reinsert the key, turn it. With the key inside and turned out the shackle back in, then turn the key to lock it.
