In our most recent adventure, Archie and Robot attempt to cycle across “The World’s Most Beautiful Country”! We crossed the heart of the mainland – first tackling the urban areas, followed by mountain passes and vast fjords as we run into bike issues and closed roads while attempting to cycle from Oslo to Bergen.

When you break a cable – adjust the low adjustment on the rear derailleur to push it up to a bigger gear, then you can change on the front as you were probably doing but you'd get an easier gear. For multi day trips a spare cable is a must, they are so light there is little reason not to. (Brake and gear if you have both). The cable breaking in STI leavers is common on some models due to how tight it turns – you need to oil this more often. It may be worth swapping these out BEFORE long trips too, start new but ride it in a bit.
