Finally tried going tubeless on my DT Swiss Gravel LNs, but they are leaking at the seam quite a bit. I figured maybe the tape was bad (bought the bike in 2022 and have always just used tubes) so I pulled the tire off to check it and discovered how bad the gap was. Guessing this can't be fixed by retaping. Is it bad enough to contact Canyon/DT Swiss or could a different sealant potentially solve this? I used Stan's original

Try Stans race sealant. Uses significantly bigger particles and would likely seal this

That parts is outside of the seal area and won’t be affected tubeless. If it does a tiny bit the sealant will seal it.

  3. That is why I run tape up the side of the bead on non welded or non epoxied rims

You’ll have that on them big jobs.

I’ve had good luck with superglue.

Put some super glue in the seam to fill the void and the sealant will do the rest no problem. I’ve had this issue with cheap WTB wheels before

Uhhh why is nobody concerned that OP has a big ass gap in their rim in the first place? Shouldn’t the rim be welded at this position? I mean the rim is a very load bearing part and, while primarily loaded with tangetial compression, it also experiences secondary loads where I think such an gap has to be critical and lead to stress concentrations.
At least I have never seen such a gap in a rim and would be concerned to ride it unless someone with specific bike engineering knowledge could explain to me why such a gap is okay.

What the hell? Stop riding this wheel and contact DT swiss for support. This is not normal

I’ve used a pre stickied tube patch on that and it worked for years.
