  1. Excellent video. I don't have much to add. I was there 2015, came with bus from Luxembourg, stayed overnight and rented a car next day for going to Schwarzwald on a quest of visiting places I hadn't seen with groups during my tour guide years. Ate at "the Boot" Brauhaus zum Stiefel, but don't remember what. Definitely some local stuff.I visited the art museum which has a large collection of German expressionists, many of them "verboten" in the 30s. The Ironworks could be called a workers castle/temple with all its spire looking gratings, pinnacles, towers and …minarets (Chimneys).

  2. The Saarland/Alscase-Lorraine region was one of Hitler's motivations for invading France, because it once belonged to Germany and many of its' citizens speak German. He underscored this rant in his "Mein Kampf".

  3. Watched and truly enjoyed it! 🇩🇪😊 Saarbrücken looks like a charming city with great food, beautiful sights, and a welcoming atmosphere. A wonderful travel guide that was both informative and enjoyable to watch. Stay connected and warm regards from Norway 🇳🇴✨

  4. I live in Göttelborn, only a few kilometres away! We have the highest Schachtturm (Schacht IV)/"headframe" in Europe here and the view is spectacular! Had I known this I would have given you a tour of the town! The Saarländer and the Saarbrücker love to complain and talk trash about Saarbrücken and the Saarland. It's tiring and it's annoying. Our Bundesland is so beautiful and has so many nice spots. I'm always glad to see people visiting Saarbrücken. I really hope the outside view helps the locals appreciate their own town! Please keep up the amazing work! <3

  6. Thanks for yet another great video. Because watching you eat awakened my appetite and to stay (almost) in tune with your video, I had a nice Flammkuchen while enjoying the tour of Saarbrücken with you guys. Was there almost 40 years ago (this doesn’t sound right…😬) and I remember that Saarbrücken surprised us in a very positive way and that the police cars were Peugeots. Thanks again and see you again next week! Have a great weekend and enjoy the awesome weather!

  7. I'm from Luxembourg and Saarbrücken is very much below the radar as a destination, even for people from the greater region. The most likely reason is probably because the central part isn't all that appealing as it was heavily destroyed during WW2. The Historical Museum was handsdown one of the best museums I've ever visited and the nearby Ludwigskirche is a baroque gem !

  8. Been watching your videos for awhile, they are excellent, thoroughly enjoy the way you present them! Between 2010 and 2017 I travelled to Germany countless times – long distance relationship which sadly, due to circumstances ended – based in Konigsbrunn near the lovely city of Augsburg. Enjoy your German escapades as I`ve been to most of the places you have featured barring one or two. Also, love your Greek adventures, I went island hopping all through the 90s! Keep on trucking and enjoying the world and of course the food!

  9. And you can take the tram all the way to the French city of Sarreguemines.
Regarding its history, you got a small detail wrong: What is Saarland today was partially Prussian and partially Bavarian after the Napoleonic era. It did not have to wait for the 1870/71 war for the French to relinquish control.

  10. Hey, I didn't know you would come here. Nice that you hat a good time.
You should have come to Tholey. We've the oldest abbey, from 634. With famous windows from the artist Gerhard Richter.
