Road biking/ Gravel biking folks… I am trying to invest some more money into a bike that I could use as more of a gravel like for pavement and pathways around the bay and I saw this as an option. I talked him down to $800 but I don’t know how old this bike is and I imagine I can’t put much larger tires on… thoughts??

Ripoff imo.

Huge rip off
Domane is an endurance road bike. Post 2018 when Sora got shifters with cable routing under the handlebar tape. Before it came out of the tops of the shifters and looped down to the head tube. Looks like it could be the 2021 model. Retail was 1380 at the height of pandemic bike prices. I would not be interested at 800 given the condition.
Trek does not sell a good match for this bike anymore. There is an AL 2 for 1200 and an AL 4 for 1800. AL 2 is 8 speed vs 10 for the AL 3. The 4 picks up hydraulic brakes and 11 speed.
1. This is not a gravel bike and won’t accept bigger tyres
2. It’s poorly maintained
3. You will have to spend more money getting it right
3. It’s expensive
4. Walk away
