Hey everyone,

I picked up this older GT BMX at a thrift store for $80 (which felt like a pretty steep price for a thrift store), but I liked it enough to take a chance on it.

Now I'm trying to figure out exactly which model it is and roughly what year it's from.

The frame is chrome with a GT head badge, but it has a Dakine decal on the downtube that I believe was added by a previous owner. It also has 3-piece cranks, and I suspect a few other parts have been swapped over the years, so I don't think it's completely original.

Does anyone recognize the frame or know what model this might be? If there are any identifying features or serial numbers I should check, let me know and I'll upload more photos.

Thanks!

    Looks like a GT performer
The gt tour and show had Pac-Man style dropouts

2000/2001 Performer or Vertigo, I believe they had identical frames but different components, but I may be wrong. Small chance it’s a Pro Performer which would make it a full 4130 frame but you’d have to consult the BMX museum to figure that out

  3. GT Pro Performer. I had that same bike in burnt orange. Boat anchor weight wise. One of my favorite bikes ever owned.
