One year to go!
Tour de France Grand Départ 2027 is coming next year, bringing the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift to Great Britain.
For Cumberland, this is a chance to be part of a major national moment – celebrating world-class cycling, local pride and community participation.
Carlisle will host the finish of Stage One on Friday 2 July, before Stage Two sets off from Keswick the next day Saturday 3 Jul), putting our area on a global stage. It’s set to be the biggest free sporting event ever held in the UK, with millions watching both in person and around the world.
We spoke to Leader of the Council, Cllr Mark Fryer and Fiona Graham, Carlisle Cycling Association about what this monumental event means for Cumberland.
