Sexias on the beach. Not as good as you want it will be.
Tour de France is tader wins then cancel the next tour de France and send the trophy to tader
Vingegaard the goat, gooo Visma!
Team Visma. Dayum!
Very Dramatic bullshit title…..how do you know Tadej didn't expect this , again another bullshit channel trying to create sensationalism nonsense
UAE werenβt favourites for it, Iβm sure he will be comfortable with that. I donβt like TTT in GC races personally though.
So my burning question @lanternerougecycling is if you had any part in that perfect Visma tactical plan?
Frozen moments make me feel like my internet is locked up. Horrible editing.
Honestly, ttt are so fast only aerodynamics count in the flats, says nothing about power, the visma helmet may save 30-40 wats at 70 kmh or not or more… also the last hill there is pre exhaustion or how fast you get pulled at the bottom, exiting but not telling the results
The main thing that stood out to me was that jonas looked wrecked at the end and full of sweat and clearly putting in a strong effort whereas pogacar didn't even look like he had shed a single bead if sweat
Stage was great but coverage was pretty bad imo. They showed Alpecin more after the finish than on the course, like they forgot who MvdP was until he set the fastest time. And the 20 fixed cameras at the finish all looked the same, so I had no idea how far the riders were from the finish
People have pointed out that you can cool down efficiently through the wrists/forearms. Well, you could obviously cool down even more efficiently by wearing a cooling vest and/or helmet. The important point is that you're anyway not moving your hands around on a stationary bike, so this is the least intrusive way of doing it.
Netcompany is cooling down on the hand-Wrist ( best place to cool down the body. π
Ineos were using fresh arms for this TTT rather than tinned ones – if you soak them for 2 hours before the race you reduce your time by half
sigh, i had a wahoo elemnt bolt v3.. though i would never need another.. also had the wahoo watch.. a year later i barely ever did anything that needed either of them.. i wish i did!
Great TTT, i like the new format! I hope Jonas is back to full power and can use his team to do those savage strategies where they rip pog apart and break him
Tour the France is here…starting in Barcelona!!?? Wtf??
When Bernal crashed and almost died I never expected to see him in the TdF green jersey.
Whatβs the stage over/under for Remco to have a meltdown?
One must remember the team tt is essentially a team event in which the team with the best tactics win and of course have the strong team leader who they are protecting until final launch. So I wouldnβt read too much into this result. Itβs the part 2 weeks in when all the business takes place. Then we can see the emergence of the GC hopefuls. My bet is Pogi to win.
arms works like a radiator, it cools down blood going to your core.
Ronan of Ronan McLachlin fame gave an explanation, to do with keeping core body temperature lower before heading out for ttt. Higher body temperature robs somewhere around 15% of power
Studies have shown that rising body temperature is the main reason for degrading performance.
Getting the body as cool as possible before the start postpones the overheating which means you can go hard for longer before slowing down because of rising body temperature.
Your arteries are very close to the surface at your wrists which means its an ideal place to lose body temperature.
For the same reason you see them drink slushies before the start of TT's. The ice in the stomach reduces body temperature.
Upset?? There is no upset, it was six of one and half a dozen of the other among 4 or 5 teams.
Imo this not a ttt, itβs a itt with drafting and you start with the entire team. It too short as well
Cold hands make it easier to make pastry.
There should be a prize for the 100th person to weigh-in with "the blood vessels in the forearms" statement, believing that they are a unique thinker. Why don't they read down just a little to see if someone else has already stated it?
C'MON JONAS!!!
Huberman discussed the hands/feet years ago on his podcast.
The arms in the water is a thing to cool down. I'm a firefighter and it's a recommended technic after working in full gear on a hot day. Because of the large surface area of your forearms they work like a radiator to exchange heat.
The arm cooling in the water is an old technique. Cooling hands (even just using cool packs on your palms) significantly increases athletic performance. The hands contain specialised blood vessels which exchange heat much faster and more efficiently than most areas of the body. These blood vessels essentially bypass the capillaries and exchange blood and heat directly to venous return. In short – cooling the hands and arms significantly decreases your core body temp. It can sometimes be mire effective than only an ice vest, but it depends on the temperature.
If anyone runs, they can also test this. Between sets, submerge your hands or carry icepacks – your heart rate will decrease faster and your perceived exertion will likely plummet too.
Pro cycling teams would probably super cool handlebars if there was a way to do it that was practical and low weightβ¦
Please don't let Pog and UAE waste themselves again on meaningless early stages…
I love a TTT!!!
π We need to talk about Brandon McNultyβs mustache.
who cares ?
12 sec are nothing for Pogi in the mountains !
Ineos need way better tyres / puncture protection, they seem to get so many all the time.
Trek would have won if they soaked their arms in 8.8 degree C water.
Welcome back everyone, another TDF with the best analysis right here. β€
